Sunrise Surprise, “Sunny”, has grown into a beautiful girl, displaying the best characteristics of both her parents, with the lovely color, fine fiber and stately bearing of her dam, and the incredible density of her sire. She is living up to our expectations of her being a great foundation female with her wonderful fleece characteristics and genetics from Bueno, The Silversmith, Caligula and El Patron.

Sunny gave birth to her first cria in 2009, a lovely white boy named Solar Flare who brought home a 1st place ribbon from the 2011 AOBA Nationals. She and our white herdsire Powergrid produced an outstanding future herdsire, who has already sold. Sunny was bred to 5 time color champion MFI Peruvian Blissful’s Knight for her 2010 cria. Their cria is a perfect ’10′, born on Oct 10, 2010. We named him Ten Ten Ten, nicknamed Thirty, and expect great things from him. At just 7 months, he sheared 4.6 pounds, and sold at less than a year of age. In 2011, she gave birth to another Powergrid cria who is as lovely as his full brother Solar Flare.

Effie Mae catches everybody’s eye when they visit the farm. She has a beautiful pattern of fawn spots and one of the most interesting faces I’ve seen. Effie has a great personality and walks well on a lead. She thinks washing her feet in the water bucket is great fun, so you have to keep it up high enough she can’t step in.

I love Effie’s fleece. Not only does it have great interest with the colors, it has wonderful crimp and a great feel. She won a 2nd place at the 2009 VAOBA Fleece Show, and a 1st place ribbon from the 2010 VAOBA Spin-Off

Sherazad’s fleece is crimpy and dense in a jet black color. “Sheh” has a colorful background, with gray alpacas on both the dam and sire’s side, including The Silversmith. She has reproduced her beautiful true black color when bred to black and light brown. You can see her 2003 cria Paladin, 2007 cria Sharyn, and 2008 cria Storm Cloud (sold) on our farm site. All share their mother’s lovely black color.

Her 2009 cria, Liberte (sold), is a beautiful, strong, bay black boy from our gray herdsire FG Gryffyn. Gryffyn has wonderful staple length, consistent color, and incredibly fine fiber {2008 AFD: 21.2, CV: 17.3%}. We liked how Liberte turned out so well that we rebred Sheh to Gryffyn for a Nov 2010 cria. They produced a lovely gray girl named Shareen on Nov 3, 2010.

Sheh is a wonderful mother and would be a great alpaca for any new farm, or addition to any existing herd. Sheh sells bred to Gryffyn for a May 2012 cria and with an additional breeding in 2012 to any Peaceful Heart Alpacas herdsire.
