Learn to Weave an Alpaca Shawl on the Triangle Loom

Handwoven Shawl

Learn to create your own lovely alpaca shawl on a handcrafted Triangle Loom.  This 3 day seminar is taught by Sharla Willis at Peaceful Heart Alpacas, and will include instruction on designing your projects, calculating yarn yardage needed for a project, and the creation of your own shawl made from alpaca yarn. We will meet from 6-9 pm Friday and 8am-5pm Saturday and Sunday in our Fiber Arts Studio surrounded by alpacas in our upper pasture.  Snacks and drinks will be provided during our working sessions.  Breaks will be scheduled throughout, and lunch will be served on Saturday and Sunday.

Weaving a Shawl

The seminar costs $150 plus materials (approximately $35-75 depending on the yarn you choose).  Included in the course price is use of the handcrafted looms, which will be available for purchase at a reduced price for seminar participants.  Class size is limited and preregistration required.  A $50 deposit will reserve your space. You may register online, by phone, or come by the farm to sign up.

Weaving classes in 2012 are scheduled for June 29-July 1, August 17-19, or October 26-28.   (Private classes can be scheduled for groups of 4-8 people.)
